The New Friday Polo

A more versatile version of the luxury polo shirt, produced in collaboration with bespoke Neapolitan shirtmaker Luca Avitabile.

Designed to wear with tailoring, the long-sleeved Friday Polo has always had a collar stand like a dress shirt, so it sits well under a jacket. It now has a straight hem too, so it can be worn untucked – one of very few menswear pieces that work with both a suit and with shorts.

This update changes the collar to a spread style, making it more versatile than the button-down version, with a slightly more relaxed body (2cm extra).

Hand cut in a Naples atelier, with five aspects sewn by hand: buttonholes, mother-of-pearl buttons, gussets, ends of the cuff placket, and hand-inserted sleeves.

Made from a 150g cotton piqué, woven in Italy by Maggia – soft and luxurious, and unlike the previous version, a weight designed to be worn year-round.

The Friday Polo was one of the first proper products developed on Permanent Style, and has gone through several iterations – spread collar, button-down, lightweight and heavy, short sleeve and long.
