The Suede Overshirt

The overshirt has the same details as the Linen Overshirt: deep, flapped chest pockets; hand pockets hidden discreetly below; an internal patch pocket on the hip; variegated horn buttons; shirt cuffs that roll back in warmer weather; and a collar that looks good up or down, folding elegantly forward at the ends when up.

The only changes from the linen version are that the box pleat has been removed (it didn't work as well in suede), and the hips have been enlarged slightly, as suede sticks more there than linen.

The buttonholes and collar aren't sewn by hand, but the work throughout is fine and precise – the level you'd expect for this quality of material.

A collaboration between Permanent Style, Luca Avitabile and Rifugio in Naples, taking the classic shape of the linen overshirt and remaking it in fine tobacco suede.
