A reinterpretation of the subtle madras PS offered a few years ago, now hand-woven in the traditional manner in Chennai (once Madras). Hand weaving is a slower process, allowing more air into the fabric for an open weave – the shirt breathes better in the heat and softens over time.
The check uses strong colours – bright blue, yellow, pink – balanced with off-white and tobacco. It doesn't have the high contrast often seen in madras, which suits the heat and vibrancy of India but can be harder to wear elsewhere.
Alongside the original orange/blue colourway, two new variants were released in 2026: a blue/grey madras and a cream/yellow madras. Read the full article about the project here.
