The PS Guayabera

A new summer shirt option for the PS shop. The Guayabera is inspired by one of our favourite pieces of menswear, and we think it's particularly useful because it can be worn either on its own or with a T-shirt – and either way gives you lots of practical pockets. 

Made with OMTC in India out of their famous handwoven fabric in a blue-black melange chambray, we distilled what we love about a Guayabera but toned it down to be more modern, practical and wearable. 

It has four pockets on the front and two lines of pleats, plus traditional details like buttons on various points of the shirt. On the back are three sets and split side vents, for additional movement and easier access to trouser pockets. A nice detail is a change pocket inside the right hip pocket.

• 100% cotton, hand-woven in Chennai by Original Madras Trading Company
• Navy warp and twin weft of black and indigo
• Breathable, suitable for most summers
• Softening with washing and wear
• Weight 175 gsm
• Won’t bleed and will fade slightly over time, but only after many washes
• Dark mother-of-pearl buttons
• Four patch pockets and one small hidden pocket
• Minimal shrinkage, 1-2%

Care and fit:

• Machine wash and hang dry (or dry clean). Machine drying can lead to excess shrinkage
• Can be ironed as normal
• True to size with a comfortable fit
